Games and Contests

I am thinking of holding some contests for the F1Tweetup. Naturally, we’ll do a pick 8 where all players will pick the top 8 finishers of the race. We’ll score all the submissions and see who gets the closest to picking the most drivers in the most correct places. This is always a crap shoot in the first race of the season. We really won’t know the true speed of all the cars, and we won’t know how reliable they all are.

We also won’t know if any top drivers are gonna get the taser treatment from their own cars!

But I also want some off beat contests.
Here are some examples:
  • First car to retire
  • Pick the name of the super model Flavio Briatore will appear on the pre race grid with?
  • Which car will be the first to zap a mechanic in the pit stop?
  • Who will Kimi Raikkonen choose to crash into first this season?
  • What will be the most over used used topic brought up by the SpeedTV commentators?
Add your ideas below.

27 February 2009

Welcome to the F1 tweetup blog. We are organizing a tweetup for the first Formula 1 race of the season I Melbourne. The date is Saturday night, March 28.

We are going to watch the race live on a big screen TV. We will also have monitors rolling the FIA feed which provides lap times and car status. Naturally, since it’s a tweetup, we will also have a tweetgrid rolling as well, following tweets from around the world as the race unfolds.

We are still working on the details, but we will be holding it at a really cool place. It’s going to be late, but we will have beer, Red Bull and , of course coffee.
